5 Ways You Can Improve Your Company YouTube Channel

April 15, 2020 | Corporate Video

Improve Your YouTube Channel

Video marketing has taken the world by storm in the past few years. Brands are putting all their eggs into the video basket, understanding that customers are more compelled by visual content than any other medium. And YouTube has emerged as a key spot to upload videos. If you are hoping to improve your company YouTube channel in 2019, here are five steps that will take you in that direction.

1. Improve Your Company YouTube Channel with Focused Videos

While there are differences between SEO on YouTube compared to search engines, the principles are similar. The goal is to get as much traffic onto a video as possible, which is why videos that focus on a single topic or keyword often perform better.

Many marketers find that choosing the keyword or topic at the start of the process is the best way to proceed. Now you have a theme for your video before it is created. In contrast, trying to find a suitable title or the main keyword for a video you have already shot can be more challenging.

2. Boost Engagement

The best performing channels on YouTube are ones that promote engagement with their audience. If you are just putting up videos, turning off the comments, and not encouraging discussion, you are missing a beat.

Include segments in your videos where you ask the viewers for feedback. Perhaps you can ask them for their thoughts on the video. Or their favorite product/service that you offer. Some companies even have contests and giveaways that are linked to YouTube video comments!

3. Create Unique Branding

Much like your other social media platforms, your YouTube channel should be recognizable in an instant. By using headers, logos, and other tricks, you can ensure that your channel page is completely unique from any other creators on the platform.

It is also helpful if your branding is similar to your accounts on other social media platforms. Unique branding that is shared across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and other social media sites will help establish your online identity.

4. Stick to an Upload Schedule

While YouTube is a platform that encourages creativity and out of the box thinking, one of the ways to improve your company YouTube channel is to post videos on a regular schedule.

You can even have a small infographic in your channel header, which mentions when you upload various types of videos. Perhaps product explainers can be uploaded on Mondays, while Q&A or behind the scenes videos arrive on Wednesdays.

Having a schedule gives your audience something to look forward to. It is just like tuning in to your favorite TV show on a specific weeknight – except on YouTube!

5. Improve Your Titles and Thumbnails

If your videos are about relevant topics, but you are not generating enough views, it may be time to improve your titles and thumbnails. While you may want to steer away from “clickbait” titles as a business, making them more exciting will draw in more viewers. It is also helpful to focus on creating fun thumbnail photos that will make someone more interested in your videos.

By following these steps, you can improve your company YouTube channel significantly in the coming months. Want to learn more?
