Sum It Up With Business Video Production
Video is one of the best formats possible to explain a business. The ‘explainer video’ is something that is used to communicate a concept, product or just about anything else in a way that is succinct and easy to understand. When it comes to business video production, explainer videos are simple and cheap to make, and usually very effective if done correctly.
There are a number of different types of explainer videos, and each type features distinctive qualities that are uniquely beneficial to specific types of businesses. Here are three of the most popular explainer genres for business video production.
Motion Graphics
This is among the most popular for its sophisticated design and cost-effective production. There are many different software programs for motion graphics, which can be done in 2D, 3D. But the most used software application for motion graphics explainers would arguably be Adobe After Effects (whose latest versions can work to some degree in all three spaces, but is most commonly used for 2D animation).
After Effects is a professional tool that has become a staple in the visual effects industry as well as in business video production. In fact, there are many websites (including royalty free media vendors) who sell or even give away After Effects templates for video production. No matter which program is used, it is very important to hire the right motion graphics artist to explain your video, because it is a skill that takes a lot of practice to perfect.
Whiteboard Videos
These types of explainer videos simulate a dry erase board presentation, and can be made either by actually filming the process of writing and drawing on a physical whiteboard, or (using the more common approach) animating a depiction of that using a program such as After Effects.
The animated approach is typically only done in the 2D space, however there is usually also a photo of a hand holding a dry erase marker that is tracing all of the visual elements on the whiteboard. Transitions between frames can include swipes, scrolls and/or erasing the board to then replace the previous text and images with new ones.
It is a very engaging way to explain a business as it resembles a school presentation and simplifies a concept through very fun-looking content.
Live Video
This is a somewhat generic description for the type of business video production that has likely been around the longest of the three. Industrial films are a film/video genre that date as far back as the earliest motion picture technology.
But there are many newer and more effective ways to explain your business in live video format. The video blog (or ‘vlog’), for example, is a really good way to build a following for your business while getting the message out about your product or service.
Remember, there is plenty of room for creativity when it comes to business video production. All three of these methods have proven effectiveness, but as video technology evolves, there is always room for innovation when it comes to explaining your business to the public. Need more?
