4 Ways to Use Healthcare Videos to Attract Patients

If you are responsible for marketing a healthcare facility or practice, there are a lot of methods available. In addition to any traditional means of advertising, there are many ways you can utilize technology to reach your audience. One of the best ways you can do this is with a professional healthcare video. You can use this on your website, in your building, and elsewhere to reach both present and potential patients. Here are just 4 ways you can use healthcare videos to capture the attention of your audience.

1.) Use a healthcare video to display the providers’ profiles.

Regardless of what your medical facility specializes in, patients want to know who will be treating them. They want to feel confident that the doctor or healthcare provider they see is fully capable of giving them the care they need. Medical websites often display information on the physicians and other providers that treat patients. You can have a deeper impact on your patients’ response to this information, though, if you also have it in the form of a video.

You can use this not only on your website, but also in waiting rooms in your building. Using video in waiting rooms can make the wait seem shorter to patients and their family. Displaying interviews of the treating physicians, including details such as their experience, credentials, or why they chose their profession, can build a patient’s confidence in the provider and help them form a personal attachment to them.

2.) Use video to educate your patients.

Having an educational video available to your patients, especially in your building or on your website, is invaluable. You can provide information on treatments or procedures you perform, and why they are used. No doubt you have some aspects of your care that are unique or better than some of the alternatives other medical facilities offer. You can use this to your advantage, as this information may otherwise be unknown to the majority of your patients. Additionally, this can get your patients- or those that accompany them- thinking about how services you provide can benefit them.

You can also use educational healthcare videos to explain what patients should do in certain circumstances that pertain to your specialty. It’s beneficial to provide examples of some of the common situations you come across and offer practical remedies people can try, and inform them when it’s necessary to give your office a call, or to get emergency care.

3.) Don’t forget about patient testimonials.

Another great way to use video to get the attention of your audience is by showing patient testimonials. Of course, you will need to make sure you properly obtain legal written permission from any patients you include in this. Testimonials will get your audience focused on the good results that come from your services. People want to know that the treatments, procedures, and care you provide are successful with real people. This is a great method to use to reinforce their positive thoughts about what you do. Patients are even willing to switch their doctor’s office sometimes, if they see better results from a different physician.

4.) Remind patients of the availability of medical providers and staff.

You can use video to display your flexible hours, and show patients how they can contact someone when they really need to- such as by phone, your app or website, or a patient portal. If your office has someone on call 24/7, or for extended hours, this is something you want to advertise, so patients know they can count on you.

Those are just 4 ways your medical practice or facility can use healthcare video to attract and keep patients.
