Sound Editing Impact

Noise Pollution & Silence: The Impact of Sound Editing on Video Marketing

Visual content is an essential aspect of video marketing, but the audio content is just as important. And while it’s great to flood your videos with songs, breaking down sound elements and using them to your advantage can go a long way toward creating dynamic videos. Washington, D.C., corporate video production companies have the technology and the ability to make the sound editing in your production a stand-out factor.

Use Sound Editing to Include Local & Familiar Sounds

As you present your services to local consumers, it’s important to look at the world and environment around you. Incorporating natural sounds in your marketing videos can give viewers a sense of familiarity and a connection to your business.

For example, in Washington D.C., it’s common to hear the sounds of city streets, tourists, and public transportation systems like the metro or monorail trains. Incorporating such sound effects in your video can provide an ambient vibe that makes it feel like you’re shooting on location, even if you’re standing in front of a green screen or using stock footage.

Isolate Sound Effects

Sound engineers have the ability to isolate and use single sounds as a part of marketing videos. By removing noise pollution, your videos can have an audible focal point that viewers easily pick up on. For example, a technology company may isolate the sound of someone typing on a computer keyboard or clicking a mouse.

Isolated sound effects can also be used for other industries. Health care industries may isolate a beeping heart-rate monitor. Professional audio engineers can find the best sound effects for your industry and create a unique soundtrack for your video.

Employ a Little Silence

Silence is an effective tool in video marketing. For example, a health care company could start a commercial with a silent look at an empty hospital. After a few seconds, the sound could kick in as ambulances arrive and EMS crews wheel gurneys into the emergency room.

Almost any type of industry can use silence, which helps draw attention to on-screen visuals such as a simple text phrase. Without audio distractions, viewers are more apt to read a caption.

Plan your sound options with video production professionals. Once you brainstorm different sound elements, you can come up with compelling visuals to go along with them.
