Steps to Success: What to Do Once You Have an Amazing Marketing Video

You know how important amazing marketing video is to online marketing. Maybe you’ve read the statistics about how popular and effective they are as part of an ad campaign or maybe you’re listening to your audience and giving them what they want. For whatever reason, you’ve hired a few professional videographers and have yourself at least one really high-quality marketing video. It looks great, the sound is clear, and you’re sure your customers will love it. 
 
 

But what comes next?

 
 

1) Craft the Title

The title of your video needs to catch the eye, accurately represent the content, and provide excellent SEO. This is asking a lot from a few words, but it’s exactly the kind of exercise your marketing team was born for! 

The title is, in fact, your primary source of SEO for your video, so you must choose the phrasing carefully while at the same time avoiding the distinctive pattern of keyword-stuffing. A particularly reliable formula is to start with a catchy title, something short and sweet, followed by a tagline. “Momma Maya! – How to Use Maya Autodesk Recent Updates” is a great example of a title chock full of keywords in a way that won’t annoy your readers

2) Display Your Logo and Call to Action

Amazing marketing video is all about the branding! After all, you can’t really generate leads unless you’re leading them to your website and services. 

During the editing process – which can be done with your videographers or with editing software on your own – consider inserting a strategically placed display of your logo. Near the end of the video ensure there is a visual call to action and your website URL so viewers can find you no matter where they see the video.

3) Upload It Everywhere

Once your video and post-editing are complete, it’s time to share! While you may have made the video for a specific purpose or for use on your local site, it’s imperative to spread it around the video and social media sphere to soak up that wonderful attention from the masses. 

To start, host the video on your site, YouTube and Facebook. Then, use the YouTube version to create a Twitter post and share it with the other online communities you’re involved in. The more people that see your marketing video the better!

4) SEO Your Description

Everywhere you post your video that will allow it, and especially on YouTube, make sure to write a well-optimized description. After the title, this is your best way to draw in new viewers based on their search criteria. 

Except on your own website, use your URL as your opening line, then follow with a dynamic and friendly description of your content. While you want your description to give viewers a good idea of what’s inside, it’s a good idea to entice them a little and leave them eager to watch the amazing marketing video itself for more information. Finally, end your description with a few extra tags and keywords if they didn’t all fit in the details.
